Early Life & Education

Maestra Ruth Godoy, mother of Paola Elorza, awarded at the “Mario Baeza” International Choir Festival

Born in Santiago, Chile, Paola grew up in a home where music was not just present — it was a way of life. From a young age, she showed a natural gift for melody, rhythm, and expression, nurtured by her mother, Maestra Ruth Godoy — one of Chile’s most respected music educators and choir directors, honored at the prestigious Mario Baeza International Choir Festival.

Under her guidance, music became as essential to Paola as breathing.

She began formal training in flute, piano, and voice at an early age, quickly developing discipline while preserving the joy and emotional depth music inspired. By the time most children were still discovering their interests, Paola was already performing in choirs directed by her mother, immersing herself in the classical repertoire and refining her sense of musical interpretation.

As she matured, her dedication evolved into formal studies at the Escuela Moderna de Música, followed by piano training with renowned pianist Liliana Colzani.

Her vocal studies at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile laid the foundation for the expressive soprano voice that would later captivate audiences on the opera stage.
